holiday gift guide for the hippies, witches and free spirits in your life + low waste wrapping ideas
this post contains affiliate links. i may make a comission if you purchase an item at no extra cost to you. this comission keeps this blog afloat so i can continue to make mindful content. <3
happy holiday season!
i’ll be the first to admit spiritually conscious people are hard to buy gifts for. many of us are minimalists and don’t really want another physical item, or we’re vegan and won’t accept anything with animal products, or we just have really whack interests that are outside the mainstream norms.
when i was creating this list. i kept a few things in mind when finding items:
low waste. the holidays are notorious for creating a lot of unnecessary waste. while it is hard to avoid packaging if you are getting an item shipped to you, most of these options come in packaging that can be reused or recycled. stay until the end of the post for some low waste packaging ideas!
vegan. i personally believe that veganism is a foundation for high vibrations. none of the products listed include any animal products, so no need to worry about death in this list!
ethically made. from sustainable farming to culturally aware processing, i believe that if we are going to exist in a consumerist society it should at least be mindfully made.
supports small businesses. when you buy from a small business, an actual person does a happy dance instead of a billionaire getting another beach house. you also won’t see amazon on this list because although small business owners can distribute through amazon, amazon is garbage to its employees and is super far from environmentally conscious. i also made sure to include POC and women owned businesses.
good for you. we’re all about supporting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth here, so all these things are meant to help you blossom.
whether you’re looking for a mindful friend or you’re compiling your own christmas list to give to others, you’ll be glad that you are supporting great businesses and helping the collective vibrational growth.
if you receive any of these items, tag me (and the shop) on instagram! i would love to see your mindful christmas.
donate to a charity of their choice.
the holidays are a time for giving, and there’s no better gift than gifting the gift of giving to someone else! you can either ask them directly what charity you would like to donate to, or you can give them a donation gift card like the ones from tisbest.
gift experiences.
this is my favorite gift to give and receive. an experience is a great gift for your minimalist friends who don’t want a physical item. some ideas are a dinner out with you, plane tickets, or a certificate for skydiving if you’re that bold.
better yet, gift a trip.
i know this year wasn’t the ideal time for a trip, but there’s no saying next year might not be better! airbnb has many flexible cancellation options for places all over the world. click here to get $50 off your first booking.
go shop local.
this is less of a gift suggestion and more of a way to avoid excess waste. shopping at local boutiques and small shops you support a small business owner and prevent shipping waste. research metaphysical shops or conscious boutiques in your area for a good selection of hippie dippy stuff. i especially recommend this if you want to buy crystals or plants.
kakao- pure, anti colonial sacred plant medicine.
kakao ain’t your normal chocolate. ceremonial cacao has been used for thousands of years by indigenous tribes in central and south america. this sacred herb discovered by the mayans is often used in ceremony to open our consciousness. it’s used often in the yoga and spiritual communities to dive deeper into our unconscious and heal old wounds.
unfortunately, like most sacred plant medicines cacao has been colonialized and used without intention and gratitude for the indigenous communities it is sacred to. kakao sources its cacao from indigenous tribes from around the world, supporting their livelihood and returning cacao to its sacred roots.
cacao is 100% legal and very delicious!
you can check out kakao on their website.
sip n trip tea house - teas for the soul explorers.
sip n trip just opened its doors december 2019 and is already making moves. their tea blends are amazing and made with so much intention. the owner is an indigenous woman on a mission to connect plant medicine back to her roots.
they have both normal tea blends and *magic* tea blends. i’m in no way promoting items that are illegal, make sure you check local laws about the buying and consumption of psilocybin.
you can learn more and buy on their website.
antero’s plants- because everyone needs more plants.
who doesn’t need more plants in their lives?? antero’s plants is an amazing source for quality plant friends. it’s owned by my friend taylor, who is so freakin knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to plant care. her prices are amazing and she ships anywhere in the world!

lsw mind cards
think tarot deck, but made for a great morning. lsw mind cards can be pulled at any time of the day to bring mindfulness, but i love to use them in the morning to set the tone of my day. the cards are split into 5 categories (ritual, journal, kindness, gratitude, and reflection) and take no more than 5 minutes to complete.
you can get the lsw mind cards here.
kin euphorics- non alcoholic spirits.
i don’t know about you, but 2020 got me drinking a little bit more than usual. there’s nothing wrong with alcohol in moderation, but i personally felt like i was going a little overboard.
kin euphorics specialize in spirits that get you feeling good without the alcohol. their signature batches of adaptogens, nootropics and botanicals mimic the luxurious feeling of spirits with the hangover.
you can check out their product range on their website.
existential kink- enjoy the bad shit.
i just finished reading this book, and i had to include it because it changed my got damn life. identifying your unconscious beliefs is the first step to integrating our shadow. existential kink takes it a step beyond, teaching you how to enjoy the garbage you attract into your life so you can release it.
yellow door collective-eco-friendly handmade goods.
i got gifted a yoga mat bag from here for my birthday, and i’ve been obsessed ever since. yellow door collective makes a variety of goods like bags, pillows, masks, hats and so mcuh more. al goods are made out of recycled materials, and their work is beautiful. and everything smells SO GOOD. plus when you buy, you’re supporting a family run Black owned business.
you can support them on their website.
your love and emotional support.
the love and care you give your friends and family are waaaay better than a gift. if you don’t have money for a gift, your love is just as valid. just make sure to use their love language to show how much you care. sometimes and act of service or physical touch mean so much more than a gift.
low waste packaging ideas
wrap em in cloth. if you’re feeling really festive you can go to a fabric store and get christmas fabric, but a pretty cut up bedsheet works well too! these can be reused for years.
newspaper. if you are still getting a newspaper delivered to your house, you can wrap gifts as your would normally.
reuse ribbon. save all your cloth ribbons and reuse them! no need to throw away something perfectly fine.
